This was Barb's choice for her Blog pic this week. I posted it for her since she was unable to.
I was just spending some time playing with my macro lens and things around the house. I also bought a sheet of black foam board and a sheet of white to use for back drops. I think they work well.
European peacock or "babočka paví oko" in Czech. Very nice butterfly, actually one of our nicest. Patience really pays off here, since the butterfly didn't want to open it's wings for a very long time. Crop, no resize.
Space shuttle to space station - we are ready to dock - landing gear and flaps deployed, nose cone connector has been extended
We Lomographers love everything that gets our eyes going and keeps the blinkers off.
I'm so thrilled! This is my very first "in-the-wild" butterfly photo. Actually, "in the wild" is my own yard ;~)
"DUNCAN: This castle hath a pleasant seat; the air
Nimbly and sweetly recommends itself
Unto our gentle senses.
BANQUO: This guest of summer,
The temple-haunting martlet, does approve
By his loved mansionry that the heaven's breath
Smells wooingly here. No jutty, frieze,
Buttress, nor coign of vantage, but this bird
Hath made his pendant bed and procreant cradle;
Where they most breed and haunt, I have observed
The air is delicate."
- Macbeth, Act I, Scene VI by William Shakespeare.
Took this photo for someone special. Day 11. Hiking between Tre le Champ and Forclatz. Tour of Mt. Blanc.
The Gorillas are so much more photogenic when they're inside, I would have never guessed. (shot through glass, btw.)
Four tiny baby birds -- species unknown -- were rescued by a tenant in my building. When the cloth covering the box the birds were in was removed, the tiny creatures went into an all out "feed me!" mode... 8/1/06 update: nourished by the rescuer, the birds still live... 8/2/06 still with us... 8/3/06 birds eating and doing well....
